Global Smokefree Partnership
Coordinated by the American Cancer Society and the Framework Convention Alliance, the Global Smokefree Partnership is a multi-partner initiative formed to promote effective smokefree air policies worldwide. The Partnership works by helping practitioners and advocates of smokefree policies to: access the evidence for smokefree policies; request assistance from a network of experts; and take action in support of smokefree policies. Interested individuals may register to join the GSP.
GLOBALink: Global Tobacco Control Community
Managed by the International Union Against Cancer, GLOBALink’s website features current tobacco news in four languages, news bulletins, fact sheets, tobacco control resources and papers, as well as country- and subject-specific networks. GLOBALink also provides GLOBAL Regional Summaries and Country Profiles including information related to demographics, smoking prevalence, the tobacco economy, smoking-related disease impact and infrastructure for tobacco control.
International Resource Center
The International Resource Center is an online clearinghouse of resources for tobacco control advocates worldwide and is part of the Bloomberg Initiative to Reduce Tobacco Use. Tobacco control resources can be searched by topic or by country. The website also offers information on the global impact of tobacco use, existing efforts that support the aims of the World Health Organization Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC), and a listing by country of grants available for tobacco control initiatives.
World Health Organization Tobacco Free Initiative
The World Health Organization (WHO) is the health agency for the United Nations. The WHO Tobacco Free Initiative website features press releases and highlights of current international tobacco control activities as well as links to regional offices. It also includes links to many tobacco-related resources about research and policy development; surveillance and monitoring; capacity building; World No Tobacco Day; and WHO’s report on the global tobacco epidemic.
